Crews are at the dam turning water back in to the main canal. There was a problem at the restart yesterday evening. The canal was taken back down and another repair done. Crews will work through until water has made it into Boardman. It is a 24-hour start up.
Thank you for your patience during this stressful time.

MAIN CANAL: Crews have been hard at work all day on the main canal repair. Concrete was poured this afternoon. Water was turned in at the dam about 12:30 pm. As this is a start up after a repair, we are starting slowly. The crews are working in shifts to get water down the canal. We will stay on it until water gets to the siphon late tonight. Then they will start at 4 am tomorrow to get water into Boardman. FORECAST: Thursday morning for the Upper Canal (Umatilla/Irrigon) and Thursday mid-day for Boardman.

During their morning run, ditchriders noticed a washout near our spill gate by the siphon going under the freeway. We shut water off at the dam and stopped diverting water into Boardman, and are draining the canal. Once the canal is drained, the repair can be done. We have hired Wesley Wise Excavating to do the repair.
Water should be back in the canal at the end of the week. Watch here for updates. If you have questions, please call the office at 541-922-3814.

Southshore Drive came back on yesterday low pressure after being down for 2 repairs. District crews pressured up the system this morning.
IPS – Columbia Lane and Oregon Street Booster Stations are both back up and running, fully pressurized.
Relocation Canal / Division Street Pump Station is still under construction. There is still concrete to pour and some deliveries to form. After this work is complete, the concrete must cure before it can take the water. FORECAST: Middle to end of next week.
If you have any questions, please call the office at 541-922-3814.

IPS: Crews started up the river station Saturday afternoon/evening.
Columbia Lane and Oregon Street booster stations: The repair was completed this weekend. We still need to backfill and replace/repair the asphalt on Fourth Street. FORECAST: Tuesday afternoon.
Relocation Canal / Division Street booster station: Repairs/rebuld continues on schedule. There are 2 concrete pours remaining, and some finishing. We have tried to maintain water to the Division Street booster station and RL-3, but it is a balancing act to keep enough water in for use, and not flood the repair. We turned off the Division Street station Friday due to the rain, to give our crew a break from the long days and overtime. We turned it back on this morning, but it is a balancing act. FORECAST: Friday for repairs to be completed and water back in the full Relocation Canal.
