You may have seen WEID crews around town closing drain valves in preparation for staring the Irrigon Pump Station tomorrow, April 1. The system will take most of the day to fill. Booster stations will be turned on as needed after that.
Pump stations in the rest of the district will be turned on as we can go down the canal. We can’t turn them all on at the same time (we can’t be everywhere at the same time!). Our plan is to have everyone turned on by the weekend.
We will begin on the same schedule as last year. We will be getting updated schedules out in the next few weeks. If you have any schedule changes you would like, please call the office and we may be able to make the change. However, the goal is always for water economics, especially in this dry year.
Please call the office if you have any questions.
As you may remember, the board changed the due dates of the annual charges from April 15 and July 15 to April 1 and July 1 several years ago.
If your account is current (2014 is paid in full), you are eligible for 6-month or 12-month payment arrangements with no finance charges. Arrangements must be made in writing, so contact the office if you are interested. Payments are generally due by the 25th of the month.
6-month plans are available for all eligible water users.
12-month plans are available for those on a fixed income (retirement, disability, etc.)
Note: 6-month plans are March – August, so both the first payment and the April payment must be paid by April 25th.
Due to the dry weather we are experiencing, WEID has changed the startup dates for Irrigon and the pump stations in the District.
We will begin in Irrigon on April 1 and then proceed through the other pump stations in the District.
Please make sure your valves are closed so there will be no unexpected water delivery!
Feel free to contact the office if you have any questions: 541-922-3814
Water start-up is quickly approaching. Make sure your valves are closed, screens are in place and your system is ready.
Main Canal: Friday, March 13 we will begin flushing the upper canal. Water to Boardman sometime between Saturday and Monday, weather and need determining the actual day.
Irrigon Pressure Systems: On target for April 6.
As expected, it is a process to get water from one end of the district to the other. We like to assume that everything will go as planned, but sometimes unexpected things rear their ugly head at the worst times. Please have patience with our crews as we work to get water to everyone.
Please call the office if you have any questions, 541-922-3814
West Extension recently celebrated the retirement of 2 valued employees. They will both be missed. Saul Ochoa retired September 30, 2014 and Verlyn Penry retired January 12, 2015.
We have two new crew members and although we will miss Saul and Verlyn, we are excited to have Derek and Carlos on board.
