CANAL TREATMENTS SCHEDULED

WEID has scheduled the following canal treatments:

COPPER SULFATE & ARGOS - July 10-11 (Wednesday and Thursday): Copper Sulfate and Argos target algae. Treatments will start at approximately 7:00 am each day. ARGOS is a liquid chelated copper. It is applied at the rate of 1 ppm for a 6-hour set and has no label restrictions; this compares to the Copper Sulfate Crystals, which are applied at a rate of 5-6 ppm and have a lengthy holding time. Waters are considered "treated" from 6 am Wednesday to 10 am on Friday.

COPPER SULFATE:

7/10/24 - Upper Canal - Phase 1 inlet (East of Power Line Rd.) to Division - start time 6 am
7/10/24 - Relocation Canal - start time 7 am

ARGOS:

7/10/24 - Middle Canal - Division to I-84 - start time 8 am
7/11/24 - Boardman Canal - Siphon to end - start time 7 am

ACROLEIN (MAGNACIDE H) - July 17 (Wednesday): Magnacide H (active ingredient Acrolein) targets pond weed and algae. Treatment will start at approximately 6 am Wednesday. The entire canal will be treated, from the Phase I inlet (east of Power Line Rd.) to the endspill in Boardman. Waters are considered "treated" from 6 am Wednesday to 9 pm on Thursday.

If the heat persists into next week, there is a chance that the Acrolein treatment will be broken up into 2 days: Upper & Middle canal on Wednesday and Boardman canal on Thursday.
